We invite you to join us for worship this Sunday, September 17 at 8:15 and 10:45 a.m. The Chancel Choir will sing at both services and Carter Datz will share special music. Rev. Scott Beard will be preaching on Matthew 18:21-35.
Acolyte Training is this Sunday during Sunday School.
High School Bible Study will meet on Sunday nights from 7:30 – 8:30 p.m. Contact Theresa Melnick for this week’s location.
Tuesday Night Worship: Tuesday night worship is held each week at 7 p.m. in the Truman Student Union (lower level) and is open to people of all ages.
Club 3:16 meets Wednesdays from 3-5 p.m. for 3rd-5th graders. Contact Theresa Melnick for more details.
Wednesday Night Connect continues this week on Sept. 20. Family meal begins at 5:30 p.m.; youth praise band rehearses at 6 p.m., chancel handbells practice at 6:30 p.m. (another bell ringer who can read music is needed), adult classes and youth group (6th grade & up) meet from 6:30 -7:30 p.m. Childcare is available for parents attending a study.
Adult Connect Classes continue:
Making Sense of the Bible: Rediscovering the Power of Scripture for Today. This video and book based study focuses on helping us make sense of our sometimes confusing Scriptures. Pastor Scott leads this study.
Living the Questions is a video and discussion based group that strives to create an environment where participants can interact with one another in exploring the Christian faith. Rev. Jennifer facilitates this study.
Over Coffee meets at 7:45 a.m. at Hardee’s each Thursday morning. Over Coffee is a great way to fellowship with others and to engage in Bible study.
Community Connection: Using Your Gifts for Others is Saturday, Sept. 23 from 9 a.m. to noon. After a gathering time together, you will have the opportunity to serve in one of several projects. Please check the descriptions on Rev. Jennifer’s door and sign-up for the project which best fits your gifts: Off-site work with Habitat for Humanity on an existing home or cleaning out a storage unit, yard work at Momentum Ministry, as well as two opportunities at the church: baking treats to share with our community or making prayer blankets. We will conclude with a light meal together.
6th Annual Inspire 1 for JDRF is on September 30 at 9 a.m. at Kirksville Primary School. See registration information on the table in the Chapel hallway or register online at http://inspire1jdrf5k.weebly.com
Sunday Supper: Opportunity to serve September 24 and October 8. You are invited to join in our college mission by preparing and sharing a meal with 25 college students at Momentum House. Contact Rev. Jennifer to schedule a time to serve.

Through your generosity, the children’s and youth ministries of First Church are now funded for this year, including mission trips, Sunday School snacks, VBS fun, Club 3:16 snacks, Pumpkin Patch trips for youth and club 3:16, and much more! UMW Rummage Sale will be on Saturday, Oct. 7 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Donations are appreciated & can be brought the first week of October.

Disaster Relief: With the additional needs from Hurricane Irma, we have extended our collection into this week. Please drop off any cleaning & hygiene kits by end of the day on Monday in the Chapel hallway. If making a financial donation, include Disaster Relief in the memo line. UMCOR is able to respond to needs as they arise, and 100% of donations go toward relief.
